Our primary goal at Planet Dance is to give our students access to top talent through our classes, workshops as well as industry connections. All of our resident and guest teachers have worked, and continue to work, professionally in the industry with some of the top names in the business.

Missy is transforming the dance world with her choreography’s unique vision, style and musicality. Her professional credits include: the original Broadway and National companies of CATS as Victoria (“the white cat”), Jesus Christ Superstar (Broadway National/Anniversary Tour), Saturday Night Live “I’m 50” with Molly Shannon, Mariah Carey “All I Want for Christmas” (dancer/choreographer), MTV|VH1 appearances.

Missy and partner Andrew Hubbard co choreographed for Broadway Cares and Equity Fights Aids /The Easter Bonnet Choreography Award with (co-Recipient) Broadway choreographer Chris Gattelli (Newies/The Cher Show).
In Cincinnati, she won the Cincinnati Entertainment Award for Critical Achievement in Choreography, for her work in the original musical, ‘Christmas Yet to Come’ (Know Theater). Missy also has choreographed, ‘A Midsummer Nights Dream’ with Cincinnati Shakespeare Theater.
With her husband Andrew, Missy has been on faculty for 20 years at the acclaimed Broadway Dance Center in New York City and have taught at numerous colleges and universities as adjunct faculty: Dean College (MA), University of Cincinnati (CCM) Musical Theater (current Jazz Level 3&4),Wayne State University Detroit, MI (Guest) Lexington, KY High School for the Arts (SCAPA), University of Kentucky, Wright State University (Dayton, OH), Northern Kentucky University, Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Performing Arts High School (SCPA) and national Dance Festivals. She and Andrew Hubbard taught in 2014 in Auckland, New Zealand at UNITEC University/Ōkareka Summer school. Their nonprofit dance company, Exhale Dance Tribe spent six weeks rehearsing and performing for a World Premiere of Hōkioi me te Vwōhali at The New Zealand Festival for the Arts (Te Papa Museum - Wellington, NZ), This was a collaboration with the brilliant New Zealand based company, ŌKAREKA Dance Company, under the direction of Taiaroa Royal. This collaboration was one of 100 artists invited worldwide. Most recently this program premiered in the U.S. to rave reviews.
Hubbard and Zimmer were top 10 finalists for the Capezio ACE Choreography Awards in 2011 and in 2013 (NYC).
Missy and Andrew have co-founded nationally recognized Contemporary company, Exhale Dance Tribe, Dance Magazine's ‘25 to Watch’. Exhale is a resident company at the Broadway Series theater in Cincinnati, the Aronoff Center for the Arts for the past 19 years.
Exhale premiered works at Merce Cunningham Performance Studio in 2008. In addition, the couple choreographed for Cincinnati Ballet's New Works Program (2009-2011) with world premieres of Retrospect, Barre et Trois and Burning Moon (2012) Infamous Love Songs with International music talent, Over The Rhine. Their choreography can also be seen in Cincinnati Ballet’s Nutcracker (Victoria Morgan’s) Arabian dance for 10 seasons. Missy and husband, Andrew have been honored with a Princess Grace nomination from Cincinnati Ballet for 2010-2011 for Excellence in Choreography. The couple created work for FRAMPTON project where legendary rock icon Peter Frampton played LIVE to their piece entitled Anthology in 2014.
Lay-Zimmer has been an educator and judge for over the past 2 decades for many convention/competitions. Inspiring the next generation of performing artists has been a constant passion for Missy.
Missy understands her creativity is the ultimate form of expression while here on this earth and continues to inspire others to honor their unique artistic expression/path.
A pioneer for the new millennium as an educator and choreographer, Andrew Hubbard is broadening the perceptions of the dance world. His professional performance credits include the original Broadway companies of CATS and Footloose, Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular, Dr. Pepper National commercial and Guiding Light. Featured on the Today Show, Good Morning America and he was featured in international publications: Dance Magazine, Dance Spirit, Pointe Magazine, Teacher Magazine and Anatomy 2 by Jacqui Haas. Andrew has danced with music artists, Brian Mc Knight and Lou Bega.

Andrew is the co-owner of Planet Dance Cincinnati (Best of Cincinnati),Planet Dance has served the community for 20 years and is the training facility for Exhale Dance Tribe, located in downtown Cincinnati's rapidly growing and vibrant arts community.
Hubbard and Zimmer’s work was acknowledged at YAGP Nationals as 1st and 2nd overall winners in Contemporary dance. Hubbard & Zimmer are recipients of the choreography award for Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS- NYC Easter Bonnet.

Jennifer Rutherford moved to New York City at 14 to train at the School of American Ballet under full scholarship, learning from many well-known dance masters. She joined the New York City Ballet at just 17 years old. While dancing with the company, she originated roles in "Reliquary" choreographed by Peter Martins, as well as "Symphony in 5 Movements" choreographed by Robert LaFosse. Jennifer danced in over 50 Balanchine ballets and performed throughout the United States and South America.
Upon retiring from dance, Jennifer began teaching ballet at the Otto M. Budig School of Cincinnati Ballet and was the kids Nutcracker coach for two seasons. Jennifer has run her own preprofessional ballet program with many students currently working as dance professionals.
Jennifer has choreographed for Exhale Dance
Tribe and for the Professional Training Division at Cincinnati Ballet. She worked as principal faculty at Cincinnati Ballet, helping guide dancers to their professional ballet careers. Jennifer has taught Ballet for Planet Dance for past 15 years.
8 years with Sacramento Ballet as a Principle Dancer and 8 years with Cincinnati Ballet as a soloist. Tricia has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Portugal, Amsterdam, and Germany. Ms. Sundbeck was invited to perform at the Bolshoi Theatre in the Benois De La Danse Competition where she received audience critical acclaim.
Ali is currently a Rehearsal Director and Senior Soloist with Exhale Dance Tribe. Recently she performed in the world premiere of Hokioi me to Vwohali in the New Zealand Arts Festival. Ali is a performer at Kings Island and she is a Planet Dance Cincinnati Alumni.
Alex is the founder and director of youth hip hop crew, the Fam. He is also the former director of One Love Dance Company, Lexington’s first adult hip hop and contemporary dance company.
Sarah is currently a rehearsal Director and Senior Soloist with Exhale Dance Tribe. She performed with Exhale in the world premiere of Hokioi me to Vwohali at the New Zealand Arts Festival in Wellington, NZ. As aforementioned she is a Planet Dance Cincinnati Alum and she also attended the Governor’s School of the Arts in Kentucky.
Derrek is the co-founder of 20/Twenty Cru. He has performed in Madonna’s Super Bowl halftime show as well as the U.S. All Star Federations Dance Worlds. Derrek’s TV credits include MTV’S Taking the Stage and America’s Best Dance Crew, as well as BET’s 106 & Park’s Wild Out Wednesday.
DeMarko has been teaching hip hop all around the country for 13 years. He teaches in the styles of popping, locking, house, dance hall, and hip hop. DeMarko is the founder of the dance program at Shawnee State University. He has choreographed for many music artists and is currently working with Gabriella Findley based out of New Jersey.
Julie is the general manager at Planet Dance as well as the resident of the board of trustees for Exhale Dance Tribe. Julie grew up training under local tap legend Alma Jean Robertson. Miss Lloyd has coached many dance teams in the tri-state area and is a former faculty member of Robertson’s Dance Studio.
Patricia was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Glen Rock, NJ. She began her dance training at the age of 11at the Irene Fokine School of Ballet in Ridgewood, NJ. She was very fortunate to study under the tutelage of Irene, niece of Michael Fokine, Madam Alexander Fedorava, her Mother, and Leon Fokine, her brother.
After high school Patricia auditioned for the Ballet Company of Radio City Music Hall and was accepted, but choose to take a job offer as a trainee with the Rebecca Harkness Ballet, NY, NY.
Feeling that education was vital, Patricia decided to attend Butler University Dance Department on a full scholarship. There she worked with former Ballet Russe De Monte Carlo dancers, William Verdack and George Glenn.
Upon graduating from collage Patricia was accepted into Ballet West directed by Willam Christenson, Salt Lake City, Utah. There she moved from the corps to principal dancer in 18 months. From Ballet West she joined the Cincinnati Ballet under the direction of David McClain. As a principle dancer with CB she worked extensively with Frederick Franklin, CBE.
Patricia is known for her principal roles in classical and Balanchine ballets.
Upon retirement from the stage to start a family, Patricia began teaching at Cincinnati’s School for Creative and Performing Arts. She was the chair of the Dance Department and Co-Director of the SCPA Dance Ensemble. There she passed on her passion for dance as an art form for 35 years and truly believes that dance can teach you the necessary life skills to be successful in any chosen career.
Hannah has grown up with a passion for dance. She particularly has a strong love for tap dancing. Through attending residencies/intensives and performing in professional shows across the country, Hannah has trained with the most recognizable names in the tap industry. She is mentored in Los Angeles by Melinda Sullivan, a current member of the "Syncopated Ladies". Hannah has won numerous scholarships and awards, but above all, strives to connect and share her passion with her students.
Emily Lewis is a freshman Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Cincinnati with the goal of learning how to make prosthetics more suitable for dancers. Emily trained at the Toledo School for the Arts, Maumee High School, and Dance Expressions Studio in Toledo, Ohio. She is currently training at Planet Dance Cincinnati. Emily’s ultimate goal is to keep learning about dance and movement, perform and to help the next generation of artists to dance. Miss Lewis is grateful for this opportunity.

Jacqui is a a performing arts athletic trainer and former athletic trainer for Cincinnati Ballet (30 years). Jacqui is also the author of Dance Anatomy, your illustrated guide to improving flexibility, reducing injury and enhancing strength. She is a former professional ballet dancer with Boston Ballet, New Orleans Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, Tampa Ballet, and Southern Ballet Theater.

Dee Tomasetta is a Massachusetts native where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at the University of Michigan. Dee is currently the Associate Choreographer for the upcoming Broadway revival of The Who's Tommy. She served as the Associate Choreographer and Swing in the out of town production at the Goodman Theatre where the production received Nine Jeff Awards including Best Choreography and Best Production. Dee is also the Assistant Choreographer for the original Broadway musical Heart of Rock and Roll coming to Broadway Spring of 2024. Recently, she was a US Associate Choreographer for the eight time Tony nominated Broadway production of SIX the Musical as well as the Associate Choreographer for the First National Tour of Finding Neverland. Dee also played the coveted role of Peter Pan in the First National Tour of Finding Neverland. Other theatre projects include Broadway Labs of the Heart of Rock and Roll, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Bliss the Musical.
Dee was featured on So You Think You Can Dance as a Top 15 female finalist in Season 10 where she met Choreographer Mia Michaels. She worked as an Assistant Choreographer on numerous projects with Ms. Michaels including So You Think You Can Dance, the Joffrey Ballet, Mia Michaels LIVE, and performed Michael's original works at the Geffen Playhouse Los Angeles honoring Lin Manuel Miranda, Dick Van Dyke, and Diane Keaton.
Dee has performed in The SpongeBob Movie, Disney's Freaky Friday Movie Musical, the NBC Upfronts, New York Fashion Week, REEBOK, Gillette Venus commercials, and with Grammy Nominee Aloe Blacc. In addition to dancing, Dee has modeled for MAC Cosmetics, Enbrel Print, Beachbody and Openfit Pilates subscriptions, Capezio Dance wear and Hasbro Products USA.

Dee is currently on the Dance Faculty at the Joffrey Ballet, Steps, The Institute of American Musical Theatre, and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy located in New York City. Guest teacher for Planet Dance Cincinnati and Elite Dance in Massachusetts. She is committed to inspiring upcoming artists and continues to share her knowledge, love, and passion for the arts teaching at various dance institutions and conventions throughout the country. @deetomasetta
